The Texans cashed the board's mistake on Robinson: D.

The phones were a trap the Texans kept walking into, shipping out surplus on nearly every deal.

Leaving running back unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. Reaching for McLachlan left real value on the table behind him. Getting Robinson where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

They are betting the present roster is worth a lighter draft next spring.

It is a steep hill from here, and the grade knows it.
