FutureB-
Good, not great, for the Jaguars: B. They will call it conviction in the building and a reach everywhere else: Cam Hart, 22 picks early at pick 117.
Leaving quarterback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick17
Rnd1
JC Latham
In Round 1, Pick 17 they get a blindside protector at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick65
Rnd3
T'Vondre Sweat
T'Vondre Sweat at pick 65 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick79
Rnd3
Sedrick Van Pran
A conviction pick on Sedrick Van Pran at No. 79 that the board grades a round light. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick85
Rnd3
Tyler Davis
They liked Tyler Davis enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 3 slot. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick96
Rnd3
Mason McCormick
Mason McCormick in slot 96 is fair value, right on his grade. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick108
Rnd4
Darius Robinson
A reach on Darius Robinson in the 108th pick; the board had better options right there. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick115
Rnd4
James Williams
They talked themselves into James Williams at pick No. 115, and the board did not agree. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick117
Rnd4
Cam Hart
Value said wait; Cam Hart in Round 4, Pick 17 says they were not listening. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick152
Rnd5
Kitan Oladapo
Kitan Oladapo in pick 152 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick161
Rnd5
Jaylen Wright
Jaylen Wright in the Round 5 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick195
Rnd6
De'Corian Clark
They went early on De'Corian Clark in the 195th overall pick, and the value did not follow. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick211
Rnd6
Christian Jones
A tidy little value on Christian Jones in the 211th pick, a step better than break-even. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick234
Rnd7
Steele Chambers
A premium they did not need to pay, Steele Chambers a notch or two before his time. The roster fit checks out.
