A costly weekend of dealing drags the Patriots to a C-.

The Patriots looked at the value chart, folded it up, and took Shaun Dolac at the 196th overall pick regardless, 126 picks early.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. Landing Taylor that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped quarterback, which is a strange place to end up.

It is not that Fortune is a bad player; it is that the Patriots had louder needs to answer first.

It grades out a shrug today, with plenty of room to move either way.
