Draft Grade — Jets
Overall B
ValueB NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Jets for Ayomanor: B.

Somebody in the Round 3 slot was going to get robbed, and it turned out to be the rest of the league. The Jets sat still while Elic Ayomanor, the No. 57 name on the board, slid all the way to them, then sprinted to the podium.

They are betting Buchanan proves the room right and everyone else wrong. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain.

In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the edge rusher spot they never got to.

Pick Analysis
Pick7 Rnd1 Will Johnson
Will Johnson in the 7th overall pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick42 Rnd2 Tyleik Williams
Tyleik Williams at No. 42 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick92 Rnd3 Elic Ayomanor
Elic Ayomanor at the Round 3 slot is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick109 Rnd4 Quinn Ewers
A tidy bit of business in Round 4, Pick 8, where Quinn Ewers graded well above the range. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick146 Rnd5 Anthony Belton
Anthony Belton at pick 146 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick157 Rnd5 Robert Spears-Jennings
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Robert Spears-Jennings in pick No. 157. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick188 Rnd6 Jack Kiser
A reach on Jack Kiser in slot 188; the board had better options right there. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick209 Rnd6 Teddye Buchanan
They left a pile of value on the table to take Teddye Buchanan this early at the 209th pick. Pure best-available; the position was not exactly begging.
