Truckley45 DRAFTING FOR THEVikings
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Vikings
Overall
B-

FutureB-
Nothing loud, just a tidy B- for the Vikings. The rest of the league had time to spare on Justice Haynes; the Vikings did not wait, grabbing him 26 spots ahead at the 77th overall pick.
That quarterback hole did not close this weekend, and it was the biggest one on the wall. The Casey steal is the beam this whole class leans on.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but quarterback.
Pick Analysis
Pick13
Rnd1
Avieon Terrell
In the 13th pick they get a potential shutdown corner. Need was not the driver here.
Pick45
Rnd2
CJ Allen
CJ Allen at slot 45 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick77
Rnd3
Justice Haynes
Justice Haynes at Round 3, Pick 13 is an overdraft of the loud, memorable kind. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick97
Rnd3
Zakee Wheatley
Nice patience on Zakee Wheatley, who had no business lasting to pick 97. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick171
Rnd5
Kage Casey
Kage Casey at the Round 5 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick206
Rnd6
Dane Key
Dane Key in No. 206 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick227
Rnd7
Shamar Easter
They liked Shamar Easter enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 227. It fills a real need, too.
Pick234
Rnd7
Roderick Kearney
Roderick Kearney at No. 234 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
