Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall B+
ValueB- NeedB TradesA+ FutureB+
The Raiders worked the phones like thieves and earned a B+.

There is conviction, and then there is this. The Raiders took Dorian Singer a full 33 picks ahead of where the board had him, an overdraft steep enough that it colors the whole weekend. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The Bishop value carries more weight than any single miss elsewhere.

For all the activity, tight end went untouched, which is hard to explain.

A workmanlike haul that should hold up just fine.

Pick Analysis
Pick15 Rnd1 Jer'Zhan Newton
In the 15th overall pick they get a wrecking ball inside. A real need, handled.
Pick35 Rnd2 J.J. McCarthy
They paid up for J.J. McCarthy at the 35th pick when waiting would have done the job. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick58 Rnd2 Jordan Morgan
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Jordan Morgan at slot 58. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick63 Rnd2 Jermaine Burton
A straight-up fair deal on Jermaine Burton at Round 2, Pick 31, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick111 Rnd4 Donovan Jackson
Donovan Jackson at the Round 4 slot is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick115 Rnd4 Gabriel Murphy
Gabriel Murphy at No. 115 is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick135 Rnd4 Ray Davis
No drama and no debate, Ray Davis went about where he belonged in the 135th pick. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick144 Rnd5 Dorian Singer
A real head-scratcher, Dorian Singer in the 144th overall pick is miles ahead of his ranking. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick152 Rnd5 Jaylan Ford
They liked Jaylan Ford enough to skip the value, taking him in the Round 5 slot. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick157 Rnd5 Mike Sainristil
A reasonable price with a little left over, Mike Sainristil in No. 157. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick172 Rnd5 Cole Bishop
The board fumbled Cole Bishop all the way to pick No. 172, and they scooped it up. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick178 Rnd6 Tahj Brooks
A wild overpay on Tahj Brooks in slot 178, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
