Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Vikings spent pick No. 97 on Malachi Lawrence, a name most had 40 spots down the list.

They will regret leaving quarterback for another day if the season turns on it. The Love pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged.

Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
