Call it a hunch or call it a gamble, but the Lions spent No. 207 on Trevor Keegan, a name most had 44 spots down the list.

The Adams pick alone nudges the whole weekend up a notch. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped edge rusher, which is a strange place to end up. The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes.

They reloaded the coverage unit in bulk.

Add it up and it is a good, unfussy class.
