Draft Grade — Packers

FutureB-
The Packers lost the trade table, and the D- tells the story. You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Packers did exactly that with Red Murdock in pick No. 120. The board pushed back all weekend, and the D- is the result.
They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. The edge rusher spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.
On value alone, Slaughter makes the weekend a net positive. The Cam Jurgens pickup adds a known quantity to a class of unknowns.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
Pick Analysis
Pick54
Rnd2
Jake Slaughter
A slide stopped in Round 2, Pick 22, with Jake Slaughter worth more than the price. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick84
Rnd3
Darrell Jackson Jr.
They liked Darrell Jackson Jr. enough to skip the value, taking him in No. 84. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick98
Rnd3
Will Lee III
They jumped the gun on Will Lee III, taking him earlier than his grade liked. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick99
Rnd3
Keylan Rutledge
Keylan Rutledge in the 99th pick is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick120
Rnd4
Red Murdock
Red Murdock in the Round 4 slot is a reach so steep the board needed a second look to believe it. A minor itch, scratched.
Pick158
Rnd5
Davison Igbinosun
They took Davison Igbinosun at par in slot 158, which is nothing to complain about. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick199
Rnd6
Nick Barrett
A big swing on Nick Barrett at slot 199, well ahead of any board in the building. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick236
Rnd7
Fa'alili Fa'amoe
Fa'alili Fa'amoe at No. 236 is a conviction pick that outran the value. The roster fit checks out.
Pick254
Rnd7
Caleb Douglas
A wild overpay on Caleb Douglas in pick 254, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick257
Rnd7
Joey Aguilar
They left a pile of value on the table to take Joey Aguilar this early at the 257th overall pick. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
