Grand theft in Round 6, Pick 1: the Bills steal Caldwell and grade out a B.

The board owed the Bills one, and it paid up: Jamaree Caldwell, the No. 131 name on the board, sitting there at No. 177 like a gift left on the doorstep.

They will answer for taking cornerback early while edge rusher, quarterback and other spots went begging. For all the activity, edge rusher went untouched, which is hard to explain. The cost of the Porter reach is exactly the players who went right after him.

Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

All told, a draft that does its job without fuss, and there is real value in that.
