Draft Grade — Titans

The Titans found their guy under center in Sanders: B.

You could see the war room lean forward. Jahdae Barron at the 176th pick is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. No fireworks, but a solid B.

Whatever Shedeur Sanders becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The Ersery reach is the anchor dragging on the value grade.

Nothing here to lose sleep over, and plenty to feel decent about.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Shedeur Sanders
In Round 1, Pick 1 they get their guy under center for the next decade. A real need, handled.
Pick35 Rnd2 Aireontae Ersery
Aireontae Ersery at the Round 2 slot is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick101 Rnd3 Malaki Starks
You do not let a safety like Malaki Starks reach pick 101 and blink. They did not. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick118 Rnd4 Quinshon Judkins
They barely believed it either: Quinshon Judkins still on the board at Round 4, Pick 17. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick140 Rnd5 Tez Johnson
Tez Johnson at the 140th overall pick is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick167 Rnd5 Cody Simon
The board fumbled Cody Simon all the way to the Round 5 slot, and they scooped it up. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick176 Rnd6 Jahdae Barron
They will replay Jahdae Barron at the 176th pick for years; that is how good the value is. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick239 Rnd7 David Walker
Circle this one: David Walker at slot 239 is a fall that decides a draft. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
