Draft Grade — Titans
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesC+ FutureC
Ward is the Titans' new face under center. Grade: B-.

Somewhere a general manager is explaining how Smael Mondon Jr. got past him. The Titans do not have to explain a thing at the 167th pick. A sturdy weekend that grades out a B-.

The whole projection now runs through Cam Ward; hit there and everything else looks smarter. A whole weekend of picks and interior defensive lineman is somehow still a want.

Every board in the league had Dellinger lower, and that gap is the story. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Good work on the whole, with interior defensive lineman the one box left unchecked.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Cam Ward
In pick No. 3 they get a long-term answer under center at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick34 Rnd2 Mykel Williams
A tidy bit of business in slot 34, where Mykel Williams graded well above the range. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick39 Rnd2 Nick Emmanwori
A safety of that caliber at pick No. 39 is the definition of value, full stop. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick72 Rnd3 Dylan Fairchild
Dylan Fairchild at the 72nd pick is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick101 Rnd3 Jayden Higgins
They barely believed it either: Jayden Higgins still on the board at the Round 3 slot. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick118 Rnd4 Danny Stutsman
Steal is underselling it; Danny Stutsman at Round 4, Pick 17 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick140 Rnd5 Elic Ayomanor
They will replay Elic Ayomanor at the 140th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick167 Rnd5 Smael Mondon Jr.
Taking Smael Mondon Jr. in No. 167 is close to grand larceny; a linebacker that good had no business lasting this long. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick176 Rnd6 Cam Skattebo
They robbed the room for Cam Skattebo here, a fall nobody at the table saw coming. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick239 Rnd7 Garrett Dellinger
Garrett Dellinger at slot 239 is a conviction pick that outran the value. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
