JRogers9192 DRAFTING FOR THEPatriots

FutureA
Nothing loud, just a tidy B for the Patriots. The tape said wait; the Patriots did not. Gino Garcia went at the 238th overall pick, a good 63 picks before the board was ready. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.
On value alone, Ransaw makes the weekend a net positive. For all the activity, quarterback went untouched, which is hard to explain. They left with edge rusher solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
They were the ones paying the moving tax this weekend.
A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
Pick Analysis
Pick14
Rnd1
Tyler Warren
In No. 14 they get a red-zone target to build around. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick23
Rnd1
Josh Simmons
In slot 23 they get a cornerstone up front at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick58
Rnd2
Jaylin Noel
Jaylin Noel at pick No. 58 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick69
Rnd3
Kyle Kennard
They took Kyle Kennard at par in the 69th pick, which is nothing to complain about. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick79
Rnd3
Ozzy Trapilo
By-the-book stuff, Ozzy Trapilo at pick 79 squarely in line with his ranking. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick106
Rnd4
Jared Wilson
Good price on Jared Wilson in the 106th overall pick, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick144
Rnd5
LeQuint Allen
A tidy little value on LeQuint Allen in pick No. 144, a step better than break-even. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick217
Rnd7
Donovan Edwards
A slide stopped in the Round 7 slot, with Donovan Edwards worth more than the price. It fills a real need, too.
Pick220
Rnd7
Joshua Gray
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Joshua Gray at the 220th pick is the proof. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick232
Rnd7
Cam Jackson
No drama and no debate, Cam Jackson went about where he belonged in Round 7, Pick 16. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick236
Rnd7
Caleb Ransaw
Somehow Caleb Ransaw was still sitting there in No. 236, and they pounced on premier safety value. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick238
Rnd7
Gino Garcia
They talked themselves into Gino Garcia at pick 238, and the board did not agree. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
Pick241
Rnd7
Teddye Buchanan
Teddye Buchanan at the 241st overall pick is a clear overpay, with better names still on the board. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
