KAINE DRAFTING FOR THEPanthers

Draft Grade — Panthers

FutureB-
Best value of the weekend goes to the Panthers for Allar: B. When a board-topper like Drew Allar slides to pick No. 156, you do not overthink it, and the Panthers did not. No fireworks, but a solid B.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through edge rusher. Coogan has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced. Wide receiver was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job.
Almost all the early capital went to that side of the ball.
In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick19
Rnd1
Makai Lemon
In Round 1, Pick 19 they get a true top target at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick51
Rnd2
Dillon Thieneman
Nice patience on Dillon Thieneman, who had no business lasting to the 51st pick. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick83
Rnd3
Harold Perkins Jr.
They liked Harold Perkins Jr. enough to skip the value, taking him in slot 83. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick119
Rnd4
Justin Joly
Justin Joly at pick 119 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick156
Rnd5
Drew Allar
Drew Allar at No. 156 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick157
Rnd5
Pat Coogan
They went early on Pat Coogan in the 157th overall pick, and the value did not follow. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick198
Rnd6
Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III in the Round 6 slot is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick235
Rnd7
Tony Grimes
No edge and no loss on Tony Grimes in pick No. 235; it is a wash and a sensible one. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
