Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Lions were there to profit. Kurtis Rourke, the No. 135 name on the board, should have been long gone before the Round 7 slot.

The linebacker hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Hook has a lot of ground to make up just to look fairly priced.

On the needs board they went 5 of 9, with cornerback the one that mattered most.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.
