The Jets spent the pick that matters most on Fernando Mendoza, and a roster that has been waiting on a passer can start to take shape.

They are betting James proves the room right and everyone else wrong. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through interior defensive lineman. That is a safety worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly.

The offense got the lion's share of the attention.

A tidy weekend of work that should hold up just fine.
