Draft Grade — Bears
Overall

FutureB-
The Bears finally solved quarterback, and it carried them to a D-. The trade table was where it all came apart. The Bears shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. Hard to defend, and the D- reflects that.
So much rides on Caleb Williams that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer.
Every board in the league had Holker lower, and that gap is the story.
Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Caleb Williams
In Round 1, Pick 1 they get a franchise quarterback. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick9
Rnd1
Rome Odunze
In slot 9 they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value. A real need, handled.
Pick51
Rnd2
Chris Braswell
A tidy bit of business in pick 51, where Chris Braswell graded well above the range. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick75
Rnd3
Xavier Legette
Xavier Legette at the 75th pick is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick111
Rnd4
MarShawn Lloyd
MarShawn Lloyd at No. 111 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the running back. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick121
Rnd4
Cole Bishop
Cole Bishop at the Round 4 slot is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A minor need, but a need all the same.
Pick123
Rnd4
Sataoa Laumea
Sataoa Laumea at the 123rd overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick143
Rnd5
Dallin Holker
They paid up for Dallin Holker at pick No. 143 when waiting would have done the job. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
