Scot044 DRAFTING FOR THESeahawks
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
B
ValueA-
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Seahawks and James: B. The board owed the Seahawks one, and it paid up: Jordan James, the No. 123 name on the board, sitting there at pick No. 236 like a gift left on the doorstep. More right than wrong, and a B to match.
Leaving wide receiver unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. They are betting Frazier proves the room right and everyone else wrong.
Edge rusher was the priority and it is no longer a question, which is most of the job. The weekend tilted hard toward the defense.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.
Pick Analysis
Pick18
Rnd1
Shemar Stewart
In the 18th overall pick they get a premier pass rusher. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick50
Rnd2
Jalon Walker
Steal is underselling it; Jalon Walker at pick 50 is a heist with the alarm still ringing. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick82
Rnd3
Malaki Starks
Circle this one: Malaki Starks at No. 82 is a fall that decides a draft. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick137
Rnd4
Mason Taylor
A top-tier tight end at a bargain, Mason Taylor in the 137th pick, plain and simple. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick173
Rnd5
Jake Majors
The board fumbled Jake Majors all the way to slot 173, and they scooped it up. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick187
Rnd6
Cobee Bryant
They paid sticker price for Cobee Bryant in pick No. 187, and that is fine. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick212
Rnd6
Miles Frazier
A conviction pick on Miles Frazier at the Round 6 slot that the board grades a round light. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick236
Rnd7
Jordan James
You do not let a running back like Jordan James reach Round 7, Pick 20 and blink. They did not. It fills a real need, too.
