Draft Grade — Chiefs
Overall

FutureA
The Chiefs robbed the room for Harris. Final grade: A-. The Chiefs did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Tre Harris fell into pick No. 132.
The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Dion Dawkins deal gives the class an established piece to lean on. A modest surplus at the table, banked quietly.
Stockpiling next year's capital is patient, if unglamorous, asset work.
It is a haul that will look even better come September.
Pick Analysis
Pick63
Rnd2
T.J. Sanders
T.J. Sanders in pick No. 63 should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick66
Rnd3
Benjamin Morrison
The board fumbled Benjamin Morrison all the way to No. 66, and they scooped it up. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick95
Rnd3
TreVeyon Henderson
Taking TreVeyon Henderson in pick 95 is close to grand larceny; a running back that good had no business lasting this long. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick132
Rnd4
Tre Harris
They will replay Tre Harris at the 132nd pick for years; that is how good the value is. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick256
Rnd7
Shemar James
Shemar James at the Round 7 slot is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
