Draft Grade — Browns
Overall B
ValueB NeedA- TradesB- FutureB-
A franchise passer in Ward headlines a B weekend for the Browns.

They finally answered the question that shadows every other one. Cam Ward is the Browns' quarterback, full stop. It does the job without flash, and the B reflects it.

They are betting Downs proves the room right and everyone else wrong. For all the activity, cornerback went untouched, which is hard to explain.

Landing Stutsman that late papers over a lot of smaller sins. They left with quarterback solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but cornerback.

Pick Analysis
Pick2 Rnd1 Cam Ward
In the 2nd pick they get the face of the franchise. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick33 Rnd2 Tyler Warren
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Tyler Warren in pick No. 33. The roster fit checks out.
Pick67 Rnd3 Tre Harris
Tre Harris in the 67th overall pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick94 Rnd3 Kevin Winston Jr.
Kevin Winston Jr. in pick 94 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick104 Rnd4 Danny Stutsman
You do not let a linebacker like Danny Stutsman reach Round 4, Pick 2 and blink. They did not. Useful depth more than a marquee fix.
Pick179 Rnd6 DJ Giddens
A slide stopped in slot 179, with DJ Giddens worth more than the price. It fills a real need, too.
Pick192 Rnd6 Ajani Cornelius
Ajani Cornelius at No. 192 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick200 Rnd6 CJ West
A quiet steal in the Round 6 slot: CJ West for less than the market said. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick216 Rnd6 Nazir Stackhouse
Value with a capital V on Nazir Stackhouse in the 216th pick, a genuine coup. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick255 Rnd7 Ethan Downs
They reached into another round for Ethan Downs, and the board is nowhere close to agreeing. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
