Draft Grade — Bears
Overall B
ValueB NeedB TradesD+ FutureA
Quarterback settled, Williams in the fold, and a B for the Bears.

Start where it matters. The Bears took Caleb Williams to run the offense for the next decade, and every other decision this weekend bends around that one.

The interior defensive lineman hole is the one line item this class does not answer. However the rest shakes out, Newton at that price is a win they earned. The dealing tilted against them, just enough to notice.

The hoard sets up next April more than it helps this September.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Caleb Williams
In pick 1 they get a franchise quarterback. A real need, handled.
Pick26 Rnd1 Chop Robinson
In the Round 1 slot they get a bendy edge with upside at fair value. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick60 Rnd2 Malachi Corley
Malachi Corley at the 60th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick75 Rnd3 Blake Fisher
A reasonable price with a little left over, Blake Fisher in the 75th pick. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick134 Rnd4 Josh Newton
Josh Newton at Round 4, Pick 34 is money in the bank, a cornerback taken below his worth. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick196 Rnd6 Tanor Bortolini
They read the board right and Tanor Bortolini was the payoff at No. 196. It fills a real need, too.
