Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall
B-
ValueB-
NeedB+
TradesB-
FutureB-
A respectable, level-headed haul for the Seahawks: B-. You can draft well and still miss the point. The Seahawks did plenty of tidy work and somehow never got around to edge rusher, which was the need that mattered most. Call it a sensible B-, earned the boring way.
On value alone, Muhammad makes the weekend a net positive. If Ioane pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about.
Job largely done: offensive lineman settled and 2 of 8 of the wish list covered. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.
Pick Analysis
Pick32
Rnd1
Olaivavega Ioane
In the 32nd overall pick they get a cornerstone up front, though they paid up to get him. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick64
Rnd2
A'Mauri Washington
A clean, defensible pick in pick No. 64 with a little surplus value in A'Mauri Washington. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick96
Rnd3
Malik Muhammad
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Malik Muhammad in slot 96. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
