The Lions checked most of the boxes and earned a B+. The Lions' one glaring miss is offensive lineman, a need they left exactly as they found it. It nets out to a B+, which feels about right.
Tampa at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. The dealing nudged the ledger their way without much fuss.
The roster is better shaped than it was, with cornerback chief among the fixes. The Roy Lopez deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.
In sum, a sturdy weekend with one asterisk, the offensive lineman spot they never got to.
Pick Analysis
Pick35
Rnd2
Brian Thomas Jr.
A clean, defensible pick in pick 35 with a little surplus value in Brian Thomas Jr.. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick61
Rnd2
T.J. Tampa
Value with a capital V on T.J. Tampa in the 61st pick, a genuine coup. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
