The Colts did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Deontae Lawson fell into the Round 4 slot. No fireworks, but a solid B+.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. Spending an early pick on cornerback with wide receiver, quarterback and other spots open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up.

Adding Justin Strnad by trade rounds out the weekend beyond the rookies.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
