The move everyone will second-guess came early. The Ravens reached some 35 spots for Rondell Bothroyd, and value like that does not grow back.

James at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. Leaving interior defensive lineman unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall. On the needs board they went 5 of 8, with cornerback the one that mattered most.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but interior defensive lineman.
