Draft Grade — Bills
Overall B-
ValueC+ NeedB+ TradesB- FutureB-
The Bills kept it disciplined and banked a B-.

The one they had to fix is still broken. The Bills left interior defensive lineman untouched, and that omission hangs over an otherwise reasonable haul.

However the rest shakes out, Williams at that price is a win they earned. They are betting Melton proves the room right and everyone else wrong.

A competent weekend that does not make headlines and does not need to.

Pick Analysis
Pick29 Rnd1 Brian Thomas Jr.
In No. 29 they get a No. 1 receiver. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick61 Rnd2 Payton Wilson
A reach on Payton Wilson in the 61st overall pick; the board had better options right there. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick99 Rnd3 Max Melton
They jumped the gun on Max Melton, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick129 Rnd4 Cedric Gray
By-the-book stuff, Cedric Gray at pick 129 squarely in line with his ranking. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick162 Rnd5 Joe Milton III
A straight-up fair deal on Joe Milton III at slot 162, value and slot in agreement. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick166 Rnd5 Roger Rosengarten
No drama and no debate, Roger Rosengarten went about where he belonged in the 166th pick. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick198 Rnd6 Jawhar Jordan
Jawhar Jordan at Round 6, Pick 23 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick202 Rnd6 Braiden McGregor
Nothing to complain about; Braiden McGregor went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The roster fit checks out.
Pick207 Rnd6 Isaiah Williams
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Isaiah Williams at the 207th overall pick is the proof. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick250 Rnd7 Dwight McGlothern
They paid sticker price for Dwight McGlothern in the 250th pick, and that is fine. Depth on depth, at a spot that was hardly crying out.
