The tape said wait; the Saints did not. Richard Jibunor went at Round 7, Pick 19, a good 78 picks before the board was ready. A D that will need time and luck to look better.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. Whatever Michael Penix Jr. becomes, the front office has tied its fortunes to the answer. The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

That Jones pick is the receipt they will wave around later.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even.
