More right than wrong for the Giants, and a B to prove it.

The rest of the league had time to spare on Dayon Hayes; the Giants did not wait, grabbing him 77 spots ahead at the 219th pick. More right than wrong, and a B to match.

However the rest shakes out, Brooks at that price is a win they earned. The safety hole is the one line item this class does not answer. Job largely done: interior defensive lineman settled and 6 of 9 of the wish list covered.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but safety.

Pick Analysis
Pick3 Rnd1 Travis Hunter
In slot 3 they get a ballhawk on the outside at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick34 Rnd2 Kenneth Grant
Kenneth Grant slipping to pick 34 is the kind of luck good rooms make for themselves. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick65 Rnd3 Jordan Burch
Jordan Burch at the 65th overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick99 Rnd3 Kurtis Rourke
They left a pile of value on the table to take Kurtis Rourke this early at Round 3, Pick 35. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick105 Rnd4 Jaylin Noel
A tidy bit of business in No. 105, where Jaylin Noel graded well above the range. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick154 Rnd5 Tahj Brooks
Somehow Tahj Brooks was still sitting there in pick No. 154, and they pounced on premier running back value. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick219 Rnd7 Dayon Hayes
A swing that ignored the value entirely, Dayon Hayes well ahead of where he belonged. It fills a real need, too.
Pick246 Rnd7 Donovan Smith
By-the-book stuff, Donovan Smith at slot 246 squarely in line with his ranking. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
