The Vincent Anthony Jr. selection is the head-turner. The Cowboys reached 53 spots for him, and it will define how this weekend is remembered.

The trade table is where this weekend went wrong. They have staked the next five years on Fernando Mendoza, which is the only story that really matters here. With tight end unsolved, spending premium capital on edge rusher is the choice that costs them.

The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. Getting Golday where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and tight end is still a hole.
