There is reaching, and then there is Markis Deal at pick 251. The Cowboys jumped the board by 100 and dared it to prove them wrong. The process wobbled, and the D- is where it lands.

The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close. With tight end unsolved, spending premium capital on edge rusher is the choice that costs them. The tight end spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

On value alone, Allar makes the weekend a net positive.

Bottom line, they will need several of these picks to beat their grades just to break even, and tight end is still a hole.
