Sanders is the Cowboys' new face under center. Grade: D+.

You can fall in love with a player. You are not supposed to marry him in the wrong round. The Cowboys did exactly that with Trey Moore in the 103rd overall pick. It grades a D+, and the process earned it.

Whatever else happened, they won the night they took Singleton. They have staked the next five years on Shedeur Sanders, which is the only story that really matters here.

The trades bled value they could not afford to lose. The Winston Jr. pick reads as want over need, and the roster will feel it at cornerback and tight end.

Leaving cornerback unaddressed is the roster risk they will have to answer for in the fall.

The verdict is not kind, and fairly so; this class has a hill to climb.
