Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall C-
ValueB- NeedB- TradesF FutureC
The Seahawks bled value on every deal, hence the C-.

The trade table was where it all came apart. The Seahawks shipped out far more than they hauled back, and no amount of spin dresses up the bill. A mixed bag that lands at C-.

They will regret leaving edge rusher for another day if the season turns on it. Reaching for Zinter left real value on the table behind him.

Getting Nix where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

It nets out as a middle-of-the-pack haul that neither helps nor hurts much.

Pick Analysis
Pick16 Rnd1 Cooper DeJean
In the 16th overall pick they get a ballhawk on the outside. Need was not the driver here.
Pick36 Rnd2 Bo Nix
The board had Bo Nix higher than Round 2, Pick 4, and the quarterback fell to them anyway. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick81 Rnd3 Zak Zinter
A conviction pick on Zak Zinter at pick No. 81 that the board grades a round light. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick118 Rnd4 Donovan Jackson
They took Donovan Jackson at par in slot 118, which is nothing to complain about. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick154 Rnd5 Ben Sinnott
Ben Sinnott at No. 154 is neither steal nor reach, just the going rate. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick194 Rnd6 Ben Bywater
They stopped a slide they were happy to see, landing Ben Bywater in the 194th pick. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick236 Rnd7 Evan Williams
They went early on Evan Williams in pick 236, and the value did not follow. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
