The 49ers turned the phones into found money: B+. The rest of the league had time to spare on Jasheen Davis; the 49ers did not wait, grabbing him 95 spots ahead at No. 249. They moved the roster forward and banked a B+ for it.
That is a wide receiver worth more than the slot they spent on him, plainly. They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own.
If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through tight end. Ja'Quan McMillian gives the group a proven body among the projects.
In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.
