Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall D
ValueB- NeedB+ TradesF FutureA-
The Seahawks drew a line under the quarterback search with Nix: D.

You can lose a draft before you make a pick. The Seahawks did it at the trade table, overpaying to chase players the board did not price nearly as high. Too much went sideways, and the D is the honest tally.

So much rides on Bo Nix that the rest of the class almost grades on a curve behind him. The running back spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

The Alexander pick is the one they will point to when this weekend is judged. Reaching for Lachey left real value on the table behind him.

In short, the board sent warnings, and they will be hoping it was wrong.

Pick Analysis
Pick15 Rnd1 Bo Nix
In Round 1, Pick 15 they get a long-term answer under center. A real need, handled.
Pick35 Rnd2 Taliese Fuaga
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Taliese Fuaga at the 35th pick is the proof. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick91 Rnd3 McKinnley Jackson
McKinnley Jackson at slot 91 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick93 Rnd3 Luke Lachey
Luke Lachey at the Round 3 slot jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick115 Rnd4 Donovan Jackson
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Donovan Jackson. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick152 Rnd5 Ashton Gillotte
Ashton Gillotte at pick No. 152 is a conviction pick that outran the value. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick193 Rnd6 Ainias Smith
The board fumbled Ainias Smith all the way to pick 193, and they scooped it up. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick205 Rnd6 Zy Alexander
Zy Alexander at No. 205 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick236 Rnd7 Luke Reimer
They did well to land Luke Reimer in No. 236, just ahead of his grade. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick251 Rnd7 Jontrey Hunter
The board had cheaper options than Jontrey Hunter at slot 251, and it noticed. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
