Overall B-

A solid, sensible weekend for the Bills: B-.

There is reaching, and then there is Aeneas Peebles at the Round 4 slot. The Bills jumped the board by 39 and dared it to prove them wrong. Nothing here to lose sleep over; call it a B-.

The Starks steal is the beam this whole class leans on. A whole weekend of picks and quarterback is somehow still a want. Linebacker is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it.

Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick30 Rnd1 Emeka Egbuka
In the 30th overall pick they get a difference-maker at receiver at fair value. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick56 Rnd2 Benjamin Morrison
Benjamin Morrison slid further than he should have, and slot 56 is lovely value for the cornerback. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick62 Rnd2 Malaki Starks
Circle this one: Malaki Starks at pick 62 is a fall that decides a draft. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick109 Rnd4 Aeneas Peebles
Aeneas Peebles at pick No. 109 is a steep price for a hunch, hard to square with any board. A glaring weakness, addressed head on.
Pick132 Rnd4 Jordan Phillips
The board fumbled Jordan Phillips all the way to the 132nd pick, and they scooped it up. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick169 Rnd5 Chase Lundt
A straight-up fair deal on Chase Lundt at Round 5, Pick 31, value and slot in agreement. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick170 Rnd5 Jack Kiser
They liked Jack Kiser enough to skip the value, taking him in Round 5, Pick 32. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick173 Rnd5 Que Robinson
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Que Robinson. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick177 Rnd6 Clay Webb
A wild overpay on Clay Webb in slot 177, the sort that defines a class for the wrong reasons. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick206 Rnd6 Ricky White III
Ricky White III at the 206th overall pick is the pick scouts circle, and not in a good way. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
