Draft Grade — Bengals
Overall B+
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureB-
The Bengals won the night they stopped Bryant from sliding. Grade: B+.

Every so often the board makes a mistake, and the Bengals were there to profit. Cobee Bryant, the No. 177 name on the board, should have been long gone before pick No. 250. Good, not great, and the B+ says as much.

They robbed the room blind at the table, and it lifts the grade on its own. The wide receiver hole is the one line item this class does not answer.

The Jarvis Brownlee Jr. deal gives the class an established piece to lean on.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.

Pick Analysis
Pick23 Rnd1 Walter Nolen
In Round 1, Pick 23 they get an anchor for the defensive front at fair value. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick49 Rnd2 Xavier Watts
Good price on Xavier Watts in No. 49, a hair ahead of his grade with no real quibbles. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick81 Rnd3 Jordan Burch
They liked Jordan Burch enough to skip the value, taking him in pick No. 81. It adds depth where they could use a little.
Pick119 Rnd4 Anthony Belton
Nothing to complain about; Anthony Belton went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. A real hole, addressed with a reasonable pick.
Pick153 Rnd5 Mitchell Evans
Value with a capital V on Mitchell Evans in slot 153, a genuine coup. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick193 Rnd6 Corey Kiner
A tidy little value on Corey Kiner in the 193rd pick, a step better than break-even. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick237 Rnd7 Jay Higgins
Steal is underselling it; Jay Higgins at the Round 7 slot is a heist with the alarm still ringing. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick250 Rnd7 Cobee Bryant
Circle this one: Cobee Bryant at pick 250 is a fall that decides a draft. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
