Draft Grade — Raiders
Overall D-
ValueB- NeedB TradesF FutureB-
The Raiders found their guy under center in Mendoza: D-.

The rest of the league had time to spare on Malachi Lawrence; the Raiders did not wait, grabbing him 42 spots ahead at the 102nd pick. A D- that will need time and luck to look better.

They lost the exchange badly enough to drag the whole class down. Fernando Mendoza is the bet, and the class will be judged on how it pays off. They punted on running back, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

Landing Thieneman that late papers over a lot of smaller sins.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, running back very much included.

Pick Analysis
Pick1 Rnd1 Fernando Mendoza
In Round 1, Pick 1 they get the face of the franchise. A real need, handled.
Pick25 Rnd1 Kayden McDonald
In the 25th overall pick they get an anchor for the defensive front at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick36 Rnd2 Dani Dennis-Sutton
A reach on Dani Dennis-Sutton in No. 36; the board had better options right there. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick57 Rnd2 Dillon Thieneman
Nice patience on Dillon Thieneman, who had no business lasting to the Round 2 slot. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick67 Rnd3 Domonique Orange
Domonique Orange at pick 67 is right where the board had him, plain and simple. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick102 Rnd4 Malachi Lawrence
Value said wait; Malachi Lawrence in slot 102 says they were not listening. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick117 Rnd4 Xavier Scott
Xavier Scott slid further than he should have, and slot 117 is lovely value for the cornerback. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick129 Rnd4 CJ Daniels
A straight-up fair deal on CJ Daniels at the 129th pick, value and slot in agreement. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick135 Rnd4 Keylan Rutledge
Nothing to complain about; Keylan Rutledge went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick176 Rnd5 Lander Barton
Lander Barton at the 176th overall pick nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
