Draft Grade — Cowboys
Overall B+
ValueA NeedB+ TradesB+ FutureB-
The steal of the weekend belongs to the Cowboys and Sadiq: B+.

The best pick of the weekend was also the simplest. The Cowboys watched Kenyon Sadiq slide 202 picks past his grade and did not hesitate.

They covered a lot of ground and still skipped wide receiver, which is a strange place to end up. They squeezed a little extra out of every move they made.

Job largely done: cornerback settled and 5 of 8 of the wish list covered.

All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but wide receiver.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In slot 18 they get a three-down second-level presence, and a steal at that. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick20 Rnd1 Mansoor Delane
In pick 20 they get a ballhawk on the outside at a price that makes it sweeter. Exactly the need they had to hit.
Pick49 Rnd2 Jermod McCoy
Circle this one: Jermod McCoy at the 49th pick is a fall that decides a draft. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick97 Rnd3 Kayden McDonald
They will replay Kayden McDonald at the 97th overall pick for years; that is how good the value is. It shores up a spot that genuinely needed the help.
Pick112 Rnd4 David Bailey
David Bailey in pick No. 112 is a gift, value that borders on unfair. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick150 Rnd5 Sonny Styles
Somehow Sonny Styles was still sitting there in the Round 5 slot, and they pounced on premier linebacker value. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick177 Rnd5 Michael Taaffe
They barely believed it either: Michael Taaffe still on the board at No. 177. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
Pick194 Rnd6 J.C. Davis
A top-tier offensive lineman at a bargain, J.C. Davis in Round 6, Pick 15, plain and simple. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick215 Rnd6 Colton Hood
Colton Hood at pick No. 215 is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick221 Rnd7 Kenyon Sadiq
Kenyon Sadiq at pick 221 is daylight robbery; nobody expected him to last. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick225 Rnd7 Lee Hunter
A interior defensive lineman of that caliber at the Round 7 slot is the definition of value, full stop. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
