Draft Grade — Seahawks
Overall C
ValueB NeedB+ TradesF FutureA
The phones sank the Seahawks this weekend: C.

The Seahawks did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and De'Corian Clark fell into the 246th pick. For now it grades a C, with the swing picks left to settle the rest.

If Hartman pans out, nobody remembers the price. If not, this is the pick they hear about. The dealing is the wound this class cannot quite close.

They will regret leaving linebacker for another day if the season turns on it.

So much rides on Chop Robinson that the real verdict is a season or two away.

Pick Analysis
Pick18 Rnd1 Chop Robinson
In pick 18 they get a problem off the edge. The biggest hole, addressed.
Pick77 Rnd3 Sedrick Van Pran
A tidy little value on Sedrick Van Pran in No. 77, a step better than break-even. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick91 Rnd3 Christian Mahogany
Nothing to complain about; Christian Mahogany went a shade earlier than his grade, which is fine. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick115 Rnd4 Blake Fisher
Blake Fisher in the Round 4 slot lands just on the right side of the ledger. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick123 Rnd4 Cade Stover
They jumped the gun on Cade Stover, taking him earlier than his grade liked. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.
Pick164 Rnd5 Jason Marshall Jr.
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and Jason Marshall Jr. at the 164th pick is the proof. Not urgent, but hardly pointless.
Pick175 Rnd5 LaDarius Henderson
LaDarius Henderson in No. 175 is exactly on the number, no argument either way. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick198 Rnd6 Jamari Thrash
Circle this one: Jamari Thrash at Round 6, Pick 23 is a fall that decides a draft. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick203 Rnd6 Willie Roberts
No drama and no debate, Willie Roberts went about where he belonged in pick No. 203. Nice player, but the depth chart did not need him here.
Pick227 Rnd7 Sam Hartman
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Sam Hartman. It fills a real need, too.
Pick236 Rnd7 Frank Gore Jr.
They talked themselves into Frank Gore Jr. at No. 236, and the board did not agree. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
Pick246 Rnd7 De'Corian Clark
De'Corian Clark at the 246th overall pick is a first-round grade at a bargain-bin price, no notes. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick248 Rnd7 Walter Rouse
Walter Rouse at slot 248 nudges the ledger their way without any fuss. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
