The Bears ran the phones like sharks, prying loose value on deal after deal until the ledger was lopsided. The sum of the weekend is a deserved A-.

They banked enough surplus on Rice to cover a lot of smaller sins. They will regret leaving interior defensive lineman for another day if the season turns on it. Every board in the league had Haynes lower, and that gap is the story.

The future picks help the war chest more than the win-now roster.

A strong weekend's work, and a rare one to find this little fault with.
