You could see the war room lean forward. Jermod McCoy at the Round 7 slot is the sort of fall that does not happen, except it just did. Call it a sensible B, earned the boring way.

A whole weekend of picks and wide receiver is somehow still a want. Job largely done: cornerback settled and 4 of 8 of the wish list covered.

Solid rather than spectacular, and there is nothing wrong with that.

In Round 1, Pick 12 they get a downhill thumper at linebacker. Exactly the need they had to hit.

In the 20th pick they get a lockdown presence outside, and a steal at that. It fills the loudest need on the roster.

Sonny Styles in the Round 4 slot should not have been possible, and that is the whole point. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.

You do not let a cornerback like Colton Hood reach pick No. 150 and blink. They did not. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.

Somehow Michael Taaffe was still sitting there in the 177th overall pick, and they pounced on premier safety value. It adds depth where they could use a little.
