A costly weekend of dealing drags the Cowboys to a D.

If confidence were a draft strategy, the Cowboys would have aced it. Princewill Umanmielen at Round 7, Pick 4 is 49 spots clear of where he belonged. A weekend that fought the value and lost, hence the D.

They handed away value on the phones that the picks cannot earn back. It is not that Banks is a bad player; it is that the Cowboys had louder needs to answer first. They covered a lot of ground and still skipped tight end, which is a strange place to end up.

Add it up and it is a weekend the front office will hope everyone forgets, tight end very much included.
