The Colts bet the future on Daniels. The board says D+. The Colts lost the trade war and it was not close, handing partners the better end again and again. Too much went sideways, and the D+ is the honest tally.
They have staked the next five years on Jayden Daniels, which is the only story that really matters here. It is not that Brownlee Jr. is a bad player; it is that the Colts had louder needs to answer first.
The tight end hole is the one line item this class does not answer. The cost of the Haynes reach is exactly the players who went right after him.
