The board owed the Vikings one, and it paid up: Brashard Smith, the No. 116 name on the board, sitting there at the 191st pick like a gift left on the doorstep. Little to argue with here, and the A- says so.

The dealing alone would carry a lesser class. They punted on quarterback, and it is the miss that keeps the grade honest.

In the end it comes back to Walter Nolen, and a haul good enough to build on right away.
