Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall

NeedB-

FutureB-
A sensible, unshowy class lands the Commanders a B. The Davison Igbinosun pick is the one that will follow the Commanders into the fall. They took him 22 spots ahead of his grade, and the board is not shy about saying so. They moved the roster forward and banked a B for it.
A whole weekend of picks and tight end is somehow still a want. Greene III falling to them is the kind of break a good board is built to catch.
Good work on the whole, with tight end the one box left unchecked.
Pick Analysis
Pick10
Rnd1
Caleb Downs
In pick No. 10 they get a centerfielder for the defense, outstanding value to boot. More want than need.
Pick59
Rnd2
Germie Bernard
No drama and no debate, Germie Bernard went about where he belonged in pick 59. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.
Pick72
Rnd3
Deontae Lawson
By-the-book stuff, Deontae Lawson at the 72nd pick squarely in line with his ranking. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick148
Rnd5
Davison Igbinosun
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Davison Igbinosun. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick167
Rnd5
Lander Barton
A big swing on Lander Barton at slot 167, well ahead of any board in the building. They added to a strength when a need was still open elsewhere.
Pick185
Rnd6
CJ Daniels
Good things come to war rooms that wait, and CJ Daniels at No. 185 is the proof. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick196
Rnd6
Earnest Greene III
Value with a capital V on Earnest Greene III in pick No. 196, a genuine coup. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick222
Rnd7
Trey Zuhn III
The board had cheaper options than Trey Zuhn III at the Round 7 slot, and it noticed. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
