Grand theft in the Round 4 slot: the Bears steal Walker and grade out a B. The Bears did not reach, did not trade up, did not blink. They just waited, and Devontez Walker fell into the Round 4 slot. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
The edge rusher hole is the one line item this class does not answer. It is a bet on later, and a defensible one for a team playing the long game. They left with offensive lineman solved and the rest of the wish list mostly ticked off.
All told, a solid class that does its job everywhere but edge rusher.
Pick Analysis
Pick1
Rnd1
Marvin Harrison Jr.
In pick No. 1 they get a matchup problem out wide at fair value.
Pick5
Rnd1
Joe Alt
In Round 1, Pick 5 they get a long-term starter on the line. A clean fit for the roster.
Pick69
Rnd3
Kamren Kinchens
Kamren Kinchens in slot 69 is fair value, right on his grade. Useful body for a position without much behind the starter.
Pick128
Rnd4
Devontez Walker
You do not let a wide receiver like Devontez Walker reach pick 128 and blink. They did not. The roster fit checks out.
