Draft Grade — Jaguars
Overall B
ValueB- NeedB TradesB FutureB-
A solid, sensible weekend for the Jaguars: B.

The war room fell hard for DeMonte Capehart, and it showed at the 211th overall pick: 54 picks ahead of a board that had other ideas.

Getting Pritchett where they did is the sort of value that quietly makes a class. Spending an early pick on edge rusher with linebacker and quarterback open is the decision the grade keeps circling back to.

The linebacker spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at.

Not a headline-grabber, but a perfectly good weekend's work.

Pick Analysis
Pick17 Rnd1 Jared Verse
In the 17th overall pick they get a problem off the edge. Need was not the driver here.
Pick50 Rnd2 Xavier Worthy
Xavier Worthy at slot 50 is a sound buy, the sort that quietly helps a class. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick94 Rnd3 Christian Haynes
Quietly one of the better values of the day, Christian Haynes at No. 94. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick96 Rnd3 Christian Mahogany
Christian Mahogany at pick No. 96 is the sort of value that quietly wins a weekend. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick98 Rnd3 Tyler Davis
Tyler Davis in the 98th pick lands just on the right side of the ledger. Better still, it is exactly the hole they had to fill.
Pick114 Rnd4 Darius Robinson
The needs board was loud and they turned it down, spending pick 114 on Darius Robinson with linebacker and quarterback unsolved.
Pick116 Rnd4 Drake Nugent
Drake Nugent in pick No. 116 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. They walked in needing this and walked out with it.
Pick137 Rnd5 James Williams
They did well to land James Williams in the Round 5 slot, just ahead of his grade. One more legitimate question on the roster, answered.
Pick155 Rnd5 Jaylen Wright
Jaylen Wright in Round 5, Pick 19 is fair value, right on his grade. A need, and now a little less of one.
Pick163 Rnd5 Nehemiah Pritchett
Nehemiah Pritchett at pick 163 is the steal of the weekend, a first-round talent at a bargain-bin price. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick172 Rnd5 Kitan Oladapo
Kitan Oladapo at No. 172 is money in the bank, a safety taken below his worth. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
Pick195 Rnd6 Jared Wiley
They paid sticker price for Jared Wiley in the 195th pick, and that is fine. It patches a soft spot without any drama.
Pick211 Rnd6 DeMonte Capehart
DeMonte Capehart at slot 211 is the kind of overdraft that needs everything to break right. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick237 Rnd7 Dwight McGlothern
Dwight McGlothern in the 237th overall pick is the kind of reach that only looks good if he outplays it. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
