Quarterback settled, Williams in the fold, and a B for the Commanders.

After circling the position for what felt like forever, the Commanders committed. Caleb Williams is the quarterback now, and the roster gets built to his timeline.

The interior defensive lineman spot stays a question, and it was the one they most needed an answer at. The Logan Jr. steal is the beam this whole class leans on.

They will need Shipley to outplay his draft slot in a hurry to justify it.

In short, they left a little better than they arrived, which is the whole idea.

In slot 2 they get their quarterback of the future at fair value. A clean fit for the roster.

Graham Barton at No. 36 is a sensible buy, a touch better than market for the offensive lineman. The one spot they could not leave alone, and did not.
Pick40 Rnd2 Chris Braswell
A reasonable price with a little left over, Chris Braswell in Round 2, Pick 8. It fills a real need, too.
Pick67 Rnd3 Ja'Lynn Polk
Value with a capital V on Ja'Lynn Polk in the Round 3 slot, a genuine coup. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.

A market-rate cornerback, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Khyree Jackson. It answers the question that was keeping the coaches up at night.

Will Shipley in pick No. 102 is early enough to raise a brow, if not a full objection. A sensible fit for a spot that needed help.

They let Cedric Gray come to them and pounced at the 141st pick. A quiet depth add at a thin-ish spot.
