csloudin DRAFTING FOR THETitans
Draft Selections
Draft Grade — Titans
Overall
B
ValueB-
NeedA-
TradesB-
FutureB-
More right than wrong for the Titans, and a B to prove it. If confidence were a draft strategy, the Titans would have aced it. Kingsley Eguakun at the Round 6 slot is 38 spots clear of where he belonged. A dependable weekend that grades out a B.
Sainristil at that cost is the sort of edge that compounds over a roster. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through running back.
Offensive lineman is handled and the depth chart looks a good deal healthier for it. Building through the lines is a philosophy, and they stuck to it.
Bottom line, more hits than misses and a roster nudged the right way.
Pick Analysis
Pick7
Rnd1
Olumuyiwa Fashanu
A market-rate offensive lineman, with the board and the slot shaking hands on Olumuyiwa Fashanu. The biggest hole on the depth chart just got a whole lot smaller.
Pick38
Rnd2
Xavier Legette
No drama and no debate, Xavier Legette went about where he belonged in pick 38. It plugs a real leak on the depth chart.
Pick106
Rnd4
Mike Sainristil
Taking Mike Sainristil in Round 4, Pick 6 is close to grand larceny; a cornerback that good had no business lasting this long. It thickens a room that could stand to be thicker.
Pick144
Rnd5
Austin Booker
A conviction pick on Austin Booker at slot 144 that the board grades a round light. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick184
Rnd6
Kingsley Eguakun
This one needs a full-page explanation: Kingsley Eguakun in the Round 6 slot, miles early. Top of the wish list, and they did not leave without it.
Pick228
Rnd7
Nathaniel Watson
Nathaniel Watson at No. 228 jumps the queue by a touch more than is comfortable. Another box on the needs board, quietly ticked.
