Draft Grade — Commanders
Overall B-
ValueB NeedB TradesA+ FutureF
A masterclass at the trade table lands the Commanders a B-.

Nobody had Eric O'Neill this high, and it is not close. The Commanders reached 63 spots to get him at No. 145. No fireworks, but a solid B-.

The phones were where this weekend was really won. If this class has a fault line, it runs straight through quarterback. They banked enough surplus on Thieneman to cover a lot of smaller sins.

In sum, a sensible class that nudges the roster the right way.

Pick Analysis
Pick13 Rnd1 Arvell Reese
In the 13th overall pick they get a sideline-to-sideline linebacker. Need was not the driver here.
Pick29 Rnd1 Kenyon Sadiq
In pick No. 29 they get a matchup weapon at tight end at a price that makes it sweeter. It fills the loudest need on the roster.
Pick61 Rnd2 Dillon Thieneman
Somehow Dillon Thieneman was still sitting there in the 61st pick, and they pounced on premier safety value. Depth more than a fix, but depth they can use.
Pick71 Rnd3 Malachi Fields
They paid sticker price for Malachi Fields in Round 3, Pick 7, and that is fine. This was priority one on the needs board, and now it is handled.
Pick93 Rnd3 Chase Bisontis
The board screamed and they did not listen, reaching into the next round for Chase Bisontis. A must-fix position, and they treated it like one.
Pick145 Rnd5 Eric O'Neill
A big swing on Eric O'Neill at slot 145, well ahead of any board in the building. The roster fit checks out.
Pick185 Rnd6 Dijon Johnson
Dijon Johnson in pick No. 185 is a bet on their own eyes over everyone else's grade. It also answers one of the loudest questions on the roster.
Pick196 Rnd6 Trey Zuhn III
Trey Zuhn III in the 196th pick is exactly on the number, no argument either way. That was the need underlined and circled, and now it is checked off.
Pick223 Rnd7 Rueben Owens II
They reached a country mile for Rueben Owens II at the Round 7 slot, and the board is aghast. A sensible fit that makes the depth chart a little sturdier.
